In collaboration with the History Center “Spaces and Cultures”, CHEC, and Professor Bettina Severin-Barboutie, of the University of Clermont-Ferrand and with the support of the Italian Institute of Culture of Strasbourg, labellepoque is preparing a new creation, combining dance theater and video projection. This performance offers a common reflection on the theme of emigration and more particularly on the notion of uprooting.
The project is based on the creative work of two artists, the dancer and choreographer Emmanuelle Grizot and the actress-dancer Sabrina Zuber, who will be on stage, as well as the work of the videographer Tejas Ewing who will also create the soundtrack and the landscape sound.
This project aims to strengthen the bridge between scientific research and artistic creation. Numerous interviews were carried out to collect testimonies from people living in emigration conditions. The collection gives life to a narrative thread in 15 different languages, this multitude of voices conveys a universal dimension and shows that migration has multiple facets and concerns many more people than the migrants themselves.
